Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to what our clients ask most related to construction estimating.

HOW IT WORKS

What do you actually do?

We are an estimation company, so we provide estimating services to the clients. We take a look at your construction drawings and perform the quantity takeoff to calculate the material and quantities, so after that we provide the numbers so you submit the bid and win the project.  We break down the materials, labor, equipment and everything is listed out in a super detailed spreadsheet, which you get back in 10-48 hours.

Who is this useful for?

Everyone in the construction industry, including architects, contractors, developers, general contractors, and homeowners who need to know what they're gonna be up against cost-wise before they put in a bid or break ground.

What's the diff between an estimate and a quantity takeoff?

An estimate takes the quantities from your drawings (like how much concrete you need or how much pipe you need to lay down) and adds the cost to it. A takeoff just measures those quantities. Either way you can go with it.

How accurate are your estimates?

We're talking 95% or better. Still, we are humans, but we always aim to provide accuracy. We've got a senior estimators who reviews every one of our estimates before we send them out, making sure they're right.

GETTING STARTED

What do I need to send you?

PDFs of your drawings. The more detailed the better, but if you've just got a rough idea of what you want we can still work with it.

How do I get the ball rolling and send them over?

Just email them to us or you can upload them through our website. Let us know what the project is for, what the deadline is, and we'll get back to you with a quote in no time.

What if I'm still working on the plans?

No worries at all. We can give you a preliminary estimate that's got some built in contingencies, and as you get closer to finishing up we can refine the numbers.

How long does it take to get the estimate back?

Most of the time it's 24-48 hours, but if you're starting a big commercial project it might take a bit longer - 3-7 days. We can also do rush service if you're on a tight deadline.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

What comes in an estimate?

An Excel spreadsheet with all the itemized details, like how much material you need, how many labor hours there are, and all the totals. Plus we'll mark up the drawings in colour so you can see exactly what we came up with.

Can you match our company's formatting?

Yes we do. If you send us your template, we'll fill it in and send it back to you. Saves you the hassle of reformatting and it'll all tie in with your systems.

PRICING & PAYMENT
